INTRODUCTION
I'm working on a Last Of Us-inspired level. This will be a tutorial level that will onboard the player to learn the mechanics as well as set up the world. The level will take place in the slum of Dharavi.
MY GOAL
My Goal for this project is to make the setting, mechanics, and combat of the last of us work in a cramped setting like Dharavi. This will be longer project, so that I will be able to polish each and every section. I will be following every step a usual AAA level goes through to get a playable level.
PRE-PRODUCTION

Level Design Document
Since I'm trying to follow all the steps of a AAA production, My first main goal is to write up a Level Design Document, where I document multiple details such as Story Overview, Player Focus, Theme/Hook, LD Pillars, Metrics etc.

References
I then collected multiple references of Dharavi based on the Story and LDD and categorized every image based on an event that will happen at the level. Noted down a couple of observations I noticed on every reference picture as well.

Drawing The Map
Initially, I started with a very rough sketch on paper based on the story I had in mind, Once the rough was done, I broke down every section into a separate beat to draw in greater detail, Every beat would then be attached together in multiple variations to finalize the pacing.
